Takeoff’s Alleged Killer Released on $1 Million Bond

Patrick Clark, 33, who was charged for the murder in the fatal shooting of rapper Takeoff, 28, has been released on a $1 million bond. Clark was released on Tuesday, Jan. 3 from the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas, just over a month after being charged with Takeoff’s murder on Dec. 1.

His attorney, Letitia Quinones, said Clark has a strong case to fight for a self-defense claim. However, many eyewitnesses claimed to have regarded Takeoff as an “innocent bystander,” after an argument took place between rapper Quavo and another individual over a game of dice. The argument was taken outside of a Houston bowling alley where gunfire was eventually released, and stray shots fatally hit Takeoff.

Upon his arrest, Clark had his passport, cash and a Mexican itinerary, which prompted authorities to believe he was attempting to flee the country, according to NBC affiliate KPRC.

Clark, under conditions of his release, is under house arrest, must wear a GPS tracking device, and avoid contact with anyone involved in the shooting investigation. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 9.

Quavo’s Tribute to Takeoff

Takeoff has been widely mourned across the rap and hip-hop community including the recent tribute song “Without You” by Quavo. Quavo released this song on YouTube along with a video and SoundCloud.

This is the first song he has released since the death of Takeoff, bringing a very heartfelt and emotional message to the song. It is unclear whether this song will hit official streaming such as Spotify and Apple Music, but don’t be surprised when it’s not Quavo’s first priority — as it shouldn’t.

This is a hard time for the Migos group after losing a third of the Migos and a family member, as Quavo was Takeoff’s uncle and Offset was his cousin.
